Every year, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville brings distinguished lecturers to campus to inspire students. With UW-Platteville’s sesquicentennial year, the university officials brought in a familiar face—Bo Ryan. Not only is he the recently retired head basketball coach for the Wisconsin Badgers, he also staked his claim by being a head coach at UW-Platteville and winning four NCAA Division III national championships.
Bo Ryan shared many of his fond memories and favorite stories through an interview with the UW-Platteville Men’s Basketball Coach, Jeff Gard. Halfway through the interview, there was a surprise visit from the UW-Madison Men’s Basketball Coach, Greg Gard. They both shared their experiences at UW-Platteville and UW-Madison coaching together as a team. Coach Ryan shared with the students of UW-Platteville some advice on how to achieve their life missions and to enjoy the moment you are currently in. Coach Ryan also answered questions from the audience.
The Distinguished Lecturer was sponsored by the Pioneer Involvement Center and supported by Segregated University Fee Allocation Commission and the Wilgus Fund.
